Word Definition Day
We had another spirit day in the Academy. Today's theme was word definition day. Can you guess what I was?
Okay, so you might need a bit of 'out of the box' thinking for this one. I'm Starbucks. My tribute to the Starbucks on our ship. :)

Arrival in Togo
Last Wednesday, the M/V Africa Mercy arrived in Lome, Togo.

The crew is excited to see land after a ten day sail
The elementary students had a series of lessons about Togo during the sail. Here one of my students is waving the Togolese flag that he made during one of the lessons.
A warm welcome from the Togolese people
Screening Day
Today was the first screening day of the new field service in Togo. This year, Mercy Ships decided to do things a a little differently. Instead of arranging one large screening at the start of the outreach, several smaller screenings were arranged.
Potential patients arrive at the screening and wait in line for several hours to find out if the hospital can help them. Doctors, nurses and surgeons assess each hopeful arrivals need and whether they can be helped.
Today just under 200 patients arrived to be screened. Tomorrow and Thursday hundreds more will wait in the line that could change their life forever.
